We are excited to offer eggs from our flock of happy hens!
Our chickens are fed Kalmbach Feeds, a third generation family owned and operated company that is made in the USA and is 100% natural vegetarian grains and proteins with pre and probiotics. We also regularly spoil them with kitchen scraps, sunflower seeds, and mealworms, in addition to their regularly foraged diet of greens, grasses, and bugs they find while pecking around.
Each pack of eggs will be a 
rainbow of colors, including olive green, light and dark brown, red, tan, and the occasional blue. You might also receive a prized pullet egg (or two!), which are limited, due to only being laid by hens under a year old. Nicknamed “chef’s eggs,” they are smaller in size, have a larger yolk, and a thicker, creamier egg white, making them extra rich in cooking and recipes.
The eggs will be ungraded and washed. Once washed, they need to be refrigerated and will stay fresh about two months.
When available, eggs can be picked up between 9-5 each Wednesday at Calvino’s Outer Banks Sausage Company located at 8754 Caratoke Highway in Harbinger. If you need to arrange for another day or location, please let me know.
